Symbient Opta helps to provide security for your company via Role based permissions granted to each user and implemented at sign in. For example the person who is responsible for accounting may not need to directly access all of the areas of Human Resources, and the HR representative may not need full access to all of the Accounting screens. While it is impossible to predict all of these needs for every company. We provide a flexible and extensible way to provide access via the Admin menu item, User Roles.

The initial user for your Company is given the Admin Role by default, and has complete access rights for all of Symbient Opta initially. Each new user you add will need to be given a Role. Each different Role applies different user permissions and grants different user access within Symbient Opta.
