How to Add Fields to Categories

When grouping Products and Services into Categories, Symbient Opta allows you to add customized fields to each Category so you can capture specific information for any Product or Service in that Category.



  1. After successfully saving a Category, click on the Fields tab.
  2. Click the Add Field button.
  3. When the Add/Edit Field screen opens, fill in all the required information along with options information and click Save.
    1. Required Fields
      1. Field Name
      2. Field Type
    2. Optional Fields
      1. Description
      2. Field Default
      3. Field Help
      4. Is Required
      5. Show on List Page
      6. Is Searchable
      7. Show on General Tab
    3. Protected/Read Only Fields
      1. None
  4. Click on Save.

Notes:
  1. You can repeat steps 2 and 3 as many times as you need to until you have created all the custom fields for this Category.
  2. The custom fields will show on any Product or Service record.
