How to Create Defects

Prerequisites: Projects
 Alternatives: None See Also: Add Notes


  1. Log into Symbient Opta and click on the menu options: Projects > Defects

    You will now see a list of existing Defects.

  2. Click the Add button to navigate to the new Defect entry screen.
  3. When the new Defect entry screen opens, fill in all required information along with optional information and click Save.
    1. Required Fields
      1. Company - The Company to which this Defect belongs
      2. Project - The Project for which the Defect is created
      3. Name - The Name of the Defect
      4. Severity - The Severity of the Defect (you can select from a predefined list of values)
      5. Status - The Status of the Defect (you can select from a predefined list of values) Reported By - The name of the user who reported the Task
    2. Optional Fields
      1. Project Version - The Project Version within the Project
      2. Task - The name of the parent Defect
      3. Assigned To - The person(s) the Defect is assigned to
      4. Reported On - The date when the Defect is reported
      5. Due Date - The date when this Defect is due
      6. Description - A more detailed description of the Defect
