How to Update Your User Settings & Preferences

As a user of Symbient Opta, you are required to provide information about yourself that is used by your employer, as well as the application itself. This information includes, without limitation, a username, email address, password, first & last name, address, city, state, zip, country, phone, and timezone. You can maintain this information yourself by using the User Preferences page.



  1. Log into Symbient Opta.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner of the page. This will drop down a window that shows your user profile picture and name.
  3. Click the "Settings" button at the bottom of this drop down window to navigate to the User Preferences page.
  4. Enter values for any of the fields and click the "Save" button.

    Note: Username, Email, First Name, and Last Name are required fields. The application will not allow you to save your preferences if these fields are left blank.

    Passwords can be left blank, but if provided, the application will update your password with the new one so that next time you log out and log back in, you'll be required to provide the new password.

    The User Preferences page also allows you to change the color theme for the Symbient Opta application, as well as provide a Profile Picture that will be displayed to you and other users next to your name throughout the application.
