How to Create Tasks

  1. Log into Symbient Opta and click on the menu options: Projects > Tasks

    You will now see a list of existing Tasks.

  2. Click the Add button to navigate to the new Tasks entry screen.
  3. When the new Tasks entry screen opens, fill in all required information along with optional information and click Save.
    1. Required Fields
      1. Company - The Company to which this Task belongs
      2. Project - The Project for which the Task is created
      3. Project Version - The Project Version within the Project
      4. Name - The name of the Task
      5. Reported By - The name of the user who reported the Task
      6. Status - The status of the Task (you can select from a predefined list of values)
    2. Optional Fields
      1. Parent Task - The name of the parent Task
      2. Priority - The Priority of the task (you can select from a predefined list of values)
      3. Assigned to Workers - The name of the user who is implementing the task
      4. Assigned to Testers - The name of the user who is testing the Task
      5. Milestone - The Milestone which is implemented by this Task
      6. Progress - A representation of the Progress of the Task in percentage values
      7. Start Date - The estimated Start Date of the Task
      8. End Date - The actual End Date of the Task
      9. Due Date - The date when this Task is due
      10. Description - A more detailed description of the Task
  4. Once you have successfully saved the Task you can now continue adding Attachments and Notes.
