How to Create Products & Services

  1. Log into Symbient Opta and click on the menu options: Products>Products/Services

    You will now see a list of any existing Products or Services along with the Add button.

  2. Click the Add button to create a new Product or Service.
  3. When the Add/Edit Product or Service screen opens, fill in all the required information along with options information and click Save.
    1. Required Fields
      1. Company - This is your company and is auto populated by default.
      2. Type - Select either Product or Service. Category -
      3. Name or Product Id.
    2. Optional Fields
      1. Parent -
      2. Sku
      3. Status*
      4. Original Price
      5. Sale Price
      6. Description
    3. Protected/Read Only Fields
      1. None
  4. Once you have successfully saved your Product or Service, you are now ready to fill in any custom fields on the Additional tab (Update Custom Fields on a Product or Service) or Add Inventory to a Product on the Inventory tab.

Note(s):
  1. The list for Status is set in Setup & Configuration.
  2. If any customer fields were defined for the Category and marked "Required", you will be prompted to enter them after doing your first Save.
