How to Create Buyer Personas

A buyer persona is a semi-fictional representation of your ideal customer based on market research and real data about your existing customers. A persona is a fictional character created to represent a user type that might use a site, brand, or product in a similar way.

In Symbient Opta, the buyer persona is used to document a typical buyer for your company.



  1. Log into Symbient Opta and click on the menu options: CRM > Buyer Personas.
    • You will now see a list of any existing Buyer Personas along with the Add button.
  2. Click the Add button to navigate to the new Buyer Personas entry screen.
  3. When the Buyer Persona entry screen opens, fill in the information and click Save.
    1. Personal Attributes
      1. Company - This is your company and is auto populated by default.
      2. Industry
      3. Buyer Name
      4. Age Range
      5. Gender
      6. Geographic Location
      7. Speaks
      8. Hobbies
      9. Family Status
    2. Professional Attributes
      1. Occupation
      2. Designation
      3. Department
      4. Number Employees
      5. Job Function
    3. Buyer Attributes - Free form text fields to provide details
      1. Buyer Behavior
      2. Challenges
      3. How Can We impact the Buyer
    4. Industry Statistics & Other Information - Free form text fields to provide details
      1. Industry Statistics
      2. Misc Notes
